Renault Duster Spotted Chennai May 01

IAB reports that their sources at Renault India say the French carmaker intends to price the Duster sensationally and is counting on the SUV to give Renault India the boost it has been waiting for.

While their products – the Koleos, Fluence and Pulse – have won our admiration, they are yet to make inroads in the Indian automotive market.

Renault is counting on the Duster and the yet to be unveiled Nissan Sunny based sedan – the Scala to do just that.

IAB has arrived at the conclusion that all these facts translate to an introductory price of less than 6 lakhs for the 1.6L petrol model and a little more than 7 lakhs for the 1.5L dCi 110 diesel engine model.

We would definitely want these prices to be labelled on the Dusters as they roll off the production line at the Renault-Nissan factory in Chennai, but we would rather wait a couple more weeks for more information, just in case this highly optimistic speculation doesn’t pan out.
