That Skoda is making a Fabia based sedan called the Rapid is now well known. The date of the launch of the said vehicle has also been confirmed for the 16th of November, 2011. The Rapid shares its face with the Fabia but most of the other features including the mechanicals are shared with the Volkswagen Vento which is built on the Volkswagen Polo platform. The Polo is built on the PQ 26 platform while the Skoda Fabia is built on the slightly older PQ 25 platform which will be the basis for the Rapid as well. The Rapid will be priced below the Vento in typical VW style and is likely to offer more value for money.
