Repsol Honda rider Dani Pedrosa beat back the challenge of compatriot Jorge Lorenzo on a Yamaha and his teammate Casey Stoner to take pole position in the qualifying for tomorrow’s Czech Republic GP at Brno. Lorenzo’s teammate Ben Spies took fourth on the grid followed by Marco Simoncelli on the factory spec San Carlo Gresini Honda in fifth. Valentino Rossi of the Marlboro Ducati team took the sixth position on the grid while Andrea Dovizioso on the third Repsol Honda will start in seventh place in front of the Monster Tech3 Yamaha of Colin Edwards and the second Marlboro Ducati of Hayden. Pramac Ducati riders Randy De Puniet and Loris Capirossi find the Ducati a handful and have all lined up to the back of the grid. The Ducati’s reputation as a rider career destroyer continues despite the slight upturn in Valentino Rossi’s fortunes in qualifying. The race should be interesting.
