Lorenzo Lanzi the former Ducati rider in the World Superbike Championship, who has been out of it due to inconsistent performances has been called to substitute for the injured James Toseland in the team BMW Italia. Toseland has been ruled out for the Misano weekend as well as the next at Motorland Aragon. Lanzi will be riding the BMW for the first time in World Superbikes.
