Sauber F1 team driver Sergio Perez who crashed violently in the dying minutes of Q3 of qualifying at Monaco has escaped serious injury.  He was taken from the crash site to the Princess Grace hospital where he underwent scans and other tests.  It has new been revealed that he suffered concussions and a bruised thigh.  Formula1 has breathed a sigh of relief and more so Peter Sauber who saw his driver Karl Wendlinger crash and go into a coma for 16 days two weeks after Roland Ratzenberger in a Simtek and Ayrton Senna in a Williams were killed at Imola.  Perez is not likely to race at Monaco.
