What a looker! The GLA Class Concept has our attention even before its made its debut. The GLA Class shares its architecture with the A Class and the B Class. The rear happens to be the most attractive side of the GLA Concept with the dual exhausts and the stunning tail lamps. The 20-inch alloys shod with 255/45 R20 tires are bound to be downsized on the production variant. The compact SUV is 4.38m long, 1.97m wide and 1.57m tall and a 2.69m wheelbase. Expect the GLA to be powered by the 2.0-liter from the A250 making 211 hp. A 7G-DCT dual-clutch gearbox takes care of transmission duties. 4MATIC all-wheel drive system should be available. A 354hp AMG mill is also a speculated possibility.
So when can you buy one at your Mercedes-Benz dealer? Well, you’d have to wait until the Frankfurt Motor Show in September for the official debut of the production version and then the GLA Class should start visiting dealerships in Europe in the first half of 2014. Expect the compact crossover to reach our shores not sooner than 2015. Worthy wait, don’t you think?
