In a first of its kind live reveal, Land Rover shut down some streets of New York for Daniel Craig to blitz through in style to the venue of the all new 2014 Range Rover Sport reveal. Directed by action film 2nd unit director Jonathan P B Taylor, famous for his work in Fast & Furious, Spiderman, Captain America and more recently Die Hard, the part short film, part live drive tells the story of a driver tasked with delivering a top secret package.
Starting at the Land Rover manufacturing plant in Solihull, UK, the car is shipped under the cover of darkness in a large container over to Manhattan. It is then unveiled and driven expertly through the streets of the city, over Manhattan Bridge and through a closed off tunnel, in a bid by its driver, Daniel Craig, to get it to the launch venue on time.
Land Rover also points out that they share with Daniel Craig a link with charity S.A.F.E. Land Rover, having previously donated a Land Rover Defender to the Kenyan NGO and UK Charity 4 years ago will continue its support and is donating an additional vehicle to the charity later this year.
The ungodly hours in India meant many of us missed the live broadcast in spite of being promised ‘front row’ seats by Range Rover. You know what we mean if you registered at newrangeroversport.com! Anyway, here are some videos captured by the kind souls at the event.
