The new BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo is 200 millimetres longer than the estate BMW 3 Series Touring, has a 110 mm longer wheelbase and is 81 mm taller. That makes for astounding numbers like 520 litres of boot space, that can be increased to 1600 mm by folding the rear seats and an increase of 70mm legroom at the rear compared to the 3 Series Touring!
The 3 Series GT also offers the convenience of 40:20:40 split/folding rear seat bench with folding head restraints and tilt-adjustable backrests. A two-piece parcel shelf, lashing points, multifunction hooks and an underfloor storage compartment add to the versatility of the luggage compartment.
Five powertrain options will be available right from the launch. The BMW 335i Gran Turismo gets the top end 306 bhp six cylinder petrol mill, while the 328i and the 320i will use the four cylinder engines. The 320d Gran Turismo and 318d Gran Turismo are powered by the 2.0 litre diesel engines. All engines use BMW’s Twin Turbo technology and have auto start/stop function for improved fuel efficiency.
The 3 Series Grand Turismo will be available in three variants : Sport, Modern and Luxury. The optional M-Sport package will arrive in July 2013.
