Honda has for the first time designed a vehicle exclusively for a single market – Brazil. Honda officials have stressed that the vehicle was designed in Brazil, for Brazil. Based on the Fit/Jazz platform, the Twist has increased ground clearance, slightly different face, newer roof rails and inside, new seat covers.
AutoBlog suggests this might not after all be the rumoured small crossover based on the Fit platform. Maybe Honda might have other plans for a subcompact crossover for markets other than Brazil.
The Fit Twist will in all probability be powered by the Fit’s 115-horsepower, 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine. The Twist also gets something called ‘Advanced Compatibility Engineering’ (ACE), which incorporates an internal front structure to aid in the absorption and dispersion of impacts over a large area. Dual front airbags are standard and all four wheels get disk brakes.
