Come July 2012 and BMW has in line a number of upgrades for the various products lines. The BMW 114i will be launched as early as in July of this year, internationally. The new basic BMW 1 Series power unit delivers 75 kW/102 hp with a maximum torque of 180 Nm. Average fuel consumption is just 5.5 litres/100 km or 18.18 kpl and CO2 emissions are only 129 g/km. The BMW TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder petrol engine combines a Twin Scroll turbocharger with Valvetronic, Double VANOS and High Precision Injection. Combined with the BMW EfficientDynamics measures such as the Auto Start Stop function, Shift Point Indicator in conjunction with the six-speed manual transmission and brake energy regeneration you have a highly fuel efficiency BMW in you garage.
The BMW M135i is the top-of-the-range version of the BMW 1 Series. This distinctively dynamic vehicle is an integral part of the new product category BMW M Performance Automobile produced by the BMW M GmbH. It is positioned between the most powerful BMW series production models and thoroughbred BMW M vehicles. Heart of the new BMW M135i is the straight six-cylinder petrol engine with Twin Scroll Turbo technology, Valvetronic, Double VANOS and High Precision Injection. It delivers 235 kW/320 hp and a maximum torque of 450 Nm, power being transferred through a six-speed manual transmission fitted as standard.
As a result, the most powerful BMW 1 Series clocks 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds with a top speed of 250 km/h, of course electronically limited. The BMW M135i has an average fuel consumption of just 7.5 l/100 km or 13.33 kpl as per the EU test cycle, and a CO2 emission level of around 175 g/km. (All figures apply to the five-door BMW 1 Series with an optional eight-speed automatic transmission).
For the first time in the history of the BMW 1 Series, the intelligent four-wheel drive system BMW xDrive will be available as an option. The models BMW 120d xDrive and BMW M135i xDrive will be launched soon.
