Today is the first day of testing in what is now being called Sepang II since the first round of testing was also conducted there.  All the three manufacturers and their factory and leased bikes along with CRT teams NGM Forward Racing using a Suter-BMW and the Avintia (BQR) Racing FTR-Kawasakis are taking part in it.

Unsurprisingly Casey Stoner on the works Repsol Honda is at the top of the timing sheets and equally unsurprisingly Jorge Lorenzo on the works Yamaha is biting at his heels.  Stoner recorded a best time of 2m.2.482s and Lorenzo’s best time is 2m.2.942s.  Valentino Rossi trying the new Ducati GP 12 recorded a best time of 2m.3.574s and lies in fourth place behind Dani Pedrosa who is in 3rd place with a best time of 2m.3.395s.  Yamaha’s other works rider Ben Spies recorded a best time of 2m.3.6267s.  This is after the first hour of practice.  We will bring further updates at the end of the day.
