Moving Elegance. That’s what BMW calls the 6 Series Gran Coupe. The interiors define ‘elegance’ best with the stunning brown and white colours. The driver-focused cockpit is the usual BMW fare. Door panels flow into one another seamlessly, providing a harmonious connection all the way from the instrument panel to the rear compartment. There’s flatscreen Control Display, comfortable rear seat with an optimum backrest angle. The seating position slightly higher than in the two door coupe.
Part of the rear seats can be folded down to increase the boot capacity to 1265 Litres. BMW flaunts the additional third seat, we wonder if the third person would want straddle the central console the runs all the way from the dash to the rear seat.
Dakota leather upholstery and heated front seats, electric seat adjustment with memory function for the driver and front passenger, 2-zone automatic climate control with extended features, automatically dimming exterior and rear-view mirrors, electric steering wheel adjustment, and the Radio Professional with HiFi loudspeaker system and USB audio interface can be added to the list.
The latest generation BMW Head-Up Display we saw first on the 2012 BMW 3 Series takes its place in the 6 Series Gran Coupe. The options list includes a Bang & Olufsen High-End Surround Sound System, comfort seats and sports seats, active seats, seat ventilation, Exclusive Nappa leather, ceramic applications, heated rear seats and 4-zone automatic climate control. Whew.
Also seen in the last picture above is the lane change warning blinker in the exterior rear view mirror that warns you of the presence of a vehicle in the Beemer’s blind spot.
This beautiful interior that we have been drooling over is the BMW Individual trim. The brown on white leather upholstery is what you would find on glossy BMW brochures as ‘full-leather trim Opal White with Amaro Brown and the smooth looking iPhone-ish white wood finish will be ‘Ash Grain WHite Fine wood trim’. Take that too we say. You can take home a door sill strip that says ‘BMW Individual’. Juvenile as it may be, we simply love door sill strips!
