Casey Stoner of the Repsol Honda team has taken pole position in qualifying for tomorrow’s MotoGP race at Motegi in Japan.  Second place in qualifying went to Jorge Lorenzo of Yamaha and third on the grid to Andrea Dovizioso who surprisingly qualified ahead of Dani Pedrosa who could only take fourth.  Yamaha’s Ben Spies who is not a 100% fit finished by taking fifth on the grid while San Carlo Gresini Honda’s Marco Simoncelli will start sixth and Valentino Rossi will start his race tomorrow from seventh on the grid.  Alvaro Bautista on the Rizla Suzuki did rather well to round out the top eight in qualifying.
