India’s Karun Chandok who drove a few races for the Hispania Racing Team last year before being dropped had signed up as the third/reserve driver for the Team Lotus.  While Heikki Kovaleinen has been doing a good job in one of the Team Lotus cars the other Jarno Trulli has been struggling with a power steering that is not to his liking.  It appears that Karun Chandok has been given an opportunity to race at the Nurburgring with Team Lotus while Narain Karthikeyan will drive Vitantonio Liuzzi’s car in Friday morning practice.  Both drivers are expected to drive for their respective teams at the up coming Indian GP as well.
