He owns, or has owned at some point of time, an RD350, a Kawasaki Ninja GPZ400R, a Honda VTR 1000 SP1 RC51 and a Suzuki TL1000S, fondly referred to as the widowmaker. Now that’s an explosive start to an article.
When he tells you he works for TVS Motors, you look up to the sky, shrug off your too-cool-for-religion-atheistic attitude, and get down on your knees and thank God for giving us Chezhian Natarajan. You then make changes to your lifestyle and slot in thirty minutes of fervent prayers every morning where you beg and plead to God that the good souls at TVS Motors have the sense to hold on tight to this designer and give him free reins, so that down the line, we have a legend of a motorcycle to brag about to our friends overseas.
Chezhian started out an engineer, having done his Bachelors degree in Engineering in Bangalore. He worked on a single sided alternative suspension setup for a Yezdi that worked to eliminate dive on braking.
He moved to Ahmedabad to pursue a course in Transporation Design at NID, Ahmedabad the first batch to enroll for the course actually and spent some time in Italy as an exchange student. He moved back to India and has been working at TVS since.
He was also an active participant in the crowd sourced automotive design initiative by Local Motors. Chezhian has graciously allowed us to feature some of his sketches here, I’ll leave you guys to drool!
Chezhian has mentioned more than once that cars are ok, but sketching out motorcycles is what he loves most. The love shows in the quality of sketches rendered, I’d say.
