Yamaha V-Max, '04 Kawasaki ZX-12R and the '01 Yamaha R1 at Kolar CCD

Obligatory photo-stops done, we reach the CCD before Kolar. Now this is the part all you guys are familiar with. Pick the perfect table where you have a view of the entrance to keep an eye on the bikes and watch out for PYTs stepping in. We settled down to talk about the bikes themselves. More photos too.

Max at work is a sight to behold. Atleast one or two of the road testers who double up as photographers in tight situations at Riot Engine, picked up on the nuances of automotive photography from Max, way back when Riot Engine was just a thought bubble in our heads.

Bangalore, in its characteristic way had gone from very cold to very hot in a span of three hours. The Cramster Breezer jacket, has a removable waterproof liner inside, which kept chilly winds at bay early in the morning. Now was the time to remove the lining and let the mesh jacket breathe freely.

It’s one thing to ride on a highway maintaining triple digit speeds. As you’ve already read a million times now, on umpteen automotive forums, traffic is when you moan, whine, swear and picture yourself flicking the cars off the road and making yourself a way out. Bangalore was mercifully not too crowded on this Sunday and we got back in time for a hearty lunch,  lunch and a bus back to Chennai. Lunch twice, yes that’s how much I was fussed over by Max’s mom.

This correspondent’s ramblings do not end here. Watch this space as we milk the ride for what its worth! On a serious note though, the Yamaha R1 definitely needs more than 1000 odd words, as does the Kawasaki Ninja ZX 12-R.

– Why is this R1 naked?
– This livery on the R1…
– Are you not showing us some pictures of the R1?Those questions on your mind, and some questions you’d have never thought to ask, we hope to answer in our review of the R1, which will be posted soon.

Max has promised to come forth with his review of the ZX-12R. There cannot be a better place online for the auto enthusiast to be at. Check back for updates!
