Maserati wants to start selling 50,000 cars a year before we stumble into the year 2015. Harald Wester, Maserati CEO has said that the new 2013 Maserati Quattroporte will be at the helm of this unparalleled strategic and industrial growth spurred. The Quattroporte will be accompanied by an SUV, known to us as the Levante and the star at the Shanghai Motor Show next month, the Ghibli. This E-segment sedan will take on the likes of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class and BMW 5 Series, a volume sector which should help Maserati achieved its goal of 50,000 cars a year.
The Ghibli will of course be smaller than the Quattroporte. The Ghibli will also be a four door and will be the first production Maserati to be powered by a diesel. Maserati will offer you the option of a gasoline turbocharged 3.0 litre V6 as well as a turbocharged 3.0 litre V6 diesel.
