For a while now the Fabia Scout, essentially a tarted up version of the Fabia, has been seen with registration plates indicating that it is a test vehicle. When the images first appeared there was buzz on the internet based auto mags and blogs about the launch of the vehicle, before the sightings of the test mule simply came down to zero and along with it the buzz. However, Skoda has actually quietly launched the Fabia Scout in the Indian market with prizes starting from Rs. 6.79 lakhs ex showroom Delhi for the petrol version and going upto Rs.8.10 lakhs ex showroom Delhi for the diesel version.
What distinguishes the the Scout from the regular Fabia are side cladding made of plastic, a slightly different front and rear bumpers. The money that Skoda is asking for the Fabia Scout is rather steep putting it in the territory of C segment sedans and it would be interesting to see if we thrifty Indians who want the full bang for the buck perceive this product as value for money.
