The Rizla Suzuki MotoGP team that presently participates with in the MotoGP championship as a single rider team with Alvaro Bautista, will give a wild card ride to John Hopkins at the GP of the Czech Republic at Brno.  Hopkins has already raced once this season in MotoGP as a substitute for an injured Alvaro Bautista and finished in 10th place.  Hopkins had ridden for team Rizla Suzuki for many years before making a move to Kawasaki Racing Team which suddenly decided to withdraw from MotoGP at the end of 2008, a move that saw him lose his place on the MotoGP grid.  He now races for the Crescent Suzuki team in British Superbikes for Paul Denning who is also the manager of the Suzuki MotoGP team.  Suzuki presently participates with one rider teams in both MotoGP and World Superbikes.  There have been persistent rumours that Suzuki could withdraw from one series to consolidate in the other or withdraw from both series next year.  If Suzuki decides to opt to withdraw from World Superbikes to bring to two bikes into MotoGP next year, Hopkins could get a ride.  But right now everything is firmly up in thin air, so no one knows what will be for next year as far as Suzuki is concerned.
